Ihr Reiseleiter, ein deutschsprachiger studierter Ägyptologe, begrüßt Sie am Morgen in der Lobby Ihres Hotels. Sie fahren mit einem modernen klimatisierten Fahrzeug (PKW/Minivan) etwa 200 km durch die faszinierende Steinwüste des Sinai. Nach einer dreistündigen Fahrt erreichen Sie das Katharinenkloster.
Katharinen-Kloster
Das Katharinen-Kloster ist eines der ältesten Klöster der Christenheit. Es ist aufgrund seiner isolierten Lage eines der wenigen Klöster, das seit der Spätantike dauerhaft bewohnt ist und nie zerstört wurde. Die Hauptkirche, die Theotokos-Kirche ist ein sehr gut erhaltener Kirchenbau mit Schnitzereien und Mosaiken. Die große Ikonensammlung ist in ihrer Qualität und Vielfalt einzigartig. Die Handschriften- und Bücherbestände sind nur mit denen der Vatikanischen Bibliothek vergleichbar.
Als Baumaterial der justinianischen Umfassungsmauer dienten in der Umgebung gebrochene und geglättete Granitquader. Die Theotokos-Kirche, die Hauptkirche aus der frühbyzantinischen Zeit, ist streng ost-westlich ausgerichtet und verfügt über mehrere Kapellen und Nebenräume. Des weiteren gibt es im Katharinen-Kloster die Kapelle des Brennenden Dornbuschs. Sie darf als heiligster Ort des Klosters nur ohne Schuhe betreten werden. Auf dem Gelände befinden sich weitere Bauwerke, wie eine Moschee, ein Refektorium, eine Küche, Mönchswohnungen und Wohn- und Empfangsräume der Klostervorsteher.
Dahab
Stärken Sie sich in Dahab bei einem köstliches Mittagessen am Strand. Entspannen Sie ein wenig und genießen Sie den herrlichen Ausblick auf das Meer.

Reisetipps

Bitte teilen Sie uns nach Ihrer Ankunft im Hotel Ihre Zimmernummer per SMS oder WhatsApp mit, auch diese Angaben benötigen wir zur Durchführung Ihres Ausflugs.
- Bestellen Sie einen Weckruf an der Rezeption oder stellen Sie sich bitte den Wecker, denn es geht früh los.

Stornierungsbedingungen:
Eine kostenlose Stornierung ist bis 12 Stunden vor Reisebeginn möglich. Danach erheben wir eine Ausfallpauschale in Höhe von 30% des Reisepreises.
